2025 | FOR PEOPLE INTENDING TO SPEND 'LESS' OR 'MUCH LESS' ON TRAVEL IN 2025, ALMOST HALF SAY
THEY HAVE LESS MONEY TO SPEND ON TRAVEL, WITH A FURTHER ~17% PRIORITISING OTHER SPEND
WHY DO YOU PLAN TO SPEND LESS ON TRAVEL AND HOLIDAYS?' KEY INSIGHTS
• Almost 50% simply have less money to spend
• "Prioritising my spending in other areas" (~17%)
likely linked to having less money to spend across
all categories of consumer spending
• The post-COVID "revenge travel" era, where
consumers were willing to travel 'at any price'
appears to be over. Managing pricing very closely
will be critical to ensuring that it is in line with what
consumers are willing to pay, and enabling travel
operators to convert those hard-won customers to
their sites and stores
• If extra money was available, large numbers of
people would either travel or save it!
