'YOU MENTIONED YOU PLAN TO REDUCE SPENDING ON TRAVEL AND HOLIDAYS NEXT YEAR. HOW DO YOU
INTEND TO DO THIS?'
KEY INSIGHTS
• The primary way in which people will achieve lower
spend in 2025 is by travelling less - people will
either travel less frequently and/or stay at home
when on leave
• Only 25% of people appear willing to 'trade down'
by travelling rather than going abroad, staying in
cheaper accommodation, reducing the length of
their trip, or taking a cheaper method of transport
• The order and priority of these responses is largely
unchanged from 12 months ago1, indicating that the
desire to maintain the same level of holiday
experience is a key factor in consumers' holiday
planning - people would rather maintain their
quality of holiday, but do it less frequently, than
'trade down' and travel as often
